The Company is inviting applications for the post of ATASO 3, within the Safety, Quality, Security and Compliance Section.

Applications will be considered from individuals who satisfy the following minimum academic qualifications:

    Academic Qualifications – Applicants must possess:

  • a Diploma at MQF level 4 of at least 60 ECTS credits in Occupational Health and Safety. Working experience in Occupational, Health and Safety is considered as an asset.

OR

  • previous experience of at least three years working in Occupational Health and Safety while pursuing a Diploma at MQF Level 4 of at least 60 ECTS credits in the subject to be completed within the next two years.

Main Objectives and Responsibilities of the Post:

The Air Traffic Administrative Support Officer 3 shall be supporting the Safety, Quality, Security and Compliance office with his/her particular attention to the Company Occupational Health and Safety including oversight as direct support to the SQSC Senior Head. S/he shall assist the Company in the implementation of those measures which need to be taken by Law to prevent physical & psychological occupational ill-health and injury, mainly by:

  • Keeping abreast of local legislation concerning Health and Safety at the workplace. Implementing any legislative updates concerning Health and Safety at the workplace.
  • Conducting/supporting the conduct of OHS risk assessments covering the entire scope of the works involved applying the system approach of People, Equipment, Procedures and Environment.
  • Taking all necessary measures to reduce risks as much as reasonably practical in line with local and EU laws.
  • Ensuring the health and safety at all times of all personnel who may be affected by the work being carried out for the Company.
  • Giving collective protective measures priority over individual protective measures.
  • Adapting the work to the worker, as far as is reasonably practicable.
  • Continuing to develop a coherent overall prevention policy which covers technology, the organization of work, working conditions, social relationships and the influence of factors related to the working environment.
  • Continuing to provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as is required to ensure OHS protection to all staff of the organization.
  • Ensuring that all signs pertaining to OHS used within the Company premises shall be in conformity with the provision of the Workplace
  • (provision of health and/or Safety signs).
  • Planning and maintaining the emergency routes and exits plans
  • Ensuring that the premises are always equipped with suitable and sufficient firefighting equipment.
  • Ensuring that the fire-fighting equipment as well as the fire detectors and alarm systems are subjected to a periodic and suitable system of service and maintenance.
  • Supervising ongoing work in all MATS premises for the protection of Company workforce.
  • Acting as the secretary of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
  • Carrying out fire drills at the Company’s workplaces.
  • Collaborating with the respective Sections, to ascertain that the Company’s elevators are adequately maintained, examined and certified by a competent engineer, in accordance with legislation, and to keep records such as maintenance.
  • Ensuring that all personal protective equipment complies with legal provisions.

 

Ensuring that:

  • First Aid Certificates for those employees who are on the list of the Company’s First Aiders are renewed in accordance with OHS legislation.
  • The Fire Warden Certificates of those employees who are on the list of the Company’s Fire Wardens are renewed in accordance with OHS legislation.
  • Plan and coordinate eye tests of all employees in accordance with OHS legislation.
  • The First Aid Boxes are replenished on a procedure controlled periodic basis.
  • Ensures adequate First Aid Kits that are replenished on a regular basis and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) equipment are available in the properties and vehicles of MATS, including the training of such equipment for the employees.
  • Updating the OHS Policies of the Company.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate records on health and safety activities, including risk assessments, incident reports, communications with staff, and compliance documents
  • Supporting the SQSC section as determined by Section management.
  • Applying, Supporting and Adhering to the Safety, Quality and Security Policies and procedures of the organization as required by international, national and internal requirements.
  • Reporting safety and security occurrences.
  • Other related duties as per the exigencies of the section Management
