MATS is inviting applications for the post of Electrician II (Facilities and Project Management )

Qualification Requirements: Be in possession of both Electrical Licenses A & B.
Previous Experience: A minimum of three (3) years proven experience in the maintenance of industrial electrical infrastructure including 3-phase electrical installations, generators, pumps and UPS systems.
Other Requirements:
- Be in possession of a valid driving license B and C1 (or willing to get C1).
- Have familiarity with water/plumbing systems together with piping pressure testing.
- Be conversant with OHS regulations.
- Capable of carrying heavy loads.
- Be physically fit.
- Capable of working at heights/rigging.
- Clean police conduct.
- Be computer literate / A-CAD knowledgeable.

Job Title: Electrician II- Electrical, Plant, Infrastructure and Maintenance Support
Section: Facilities & Project Management Department (FPM)
Reports to: Direct Superior
Main objective of the post:
In very broad terms, the main duties relating to this position are the monitoring and maintenance of the Malta Air Traffic Services utility infrastructure and projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and support electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures used within or in relation to infrastructure, and support of MATS operation, including assets located at all its sites.
- Monitor and diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, locate the cause of a breakdown and reliably rectify, circumvent or otherwise contain the problem.
- Plan and perform the required electrical wiring for domestic and industrial infrastructure including transformers, generators, UPS systems and other components as required.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to maintain MATS electrical assets in compliance with prevailing electrical requirements, standards and regulations.
- Perform adaptive, preventive and corrective maintenance on the MATS electrical infrastructure including cables/switchgear, UPS units and any other ancillary equipment.
- Advise direct superior on the status of continued operation of equipment in terms of operational safety requirements.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on given job specifications in the context of prevailing electrical installation regulations and other projects.
- Supervise, direct, aid and train co-workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures and other facilities.
- Understand and prepare electrical schematic diagrams to determine and record the location and layout of wiring, loading and equipment and to ensure conformance with prevailing electrical regulations and safety requirements.
- Monitor, install, repair and maintain the MATS water supply systems including plumbing works, pumps and storage tanks as well as the entire water supply infrastructure including that which supports the MATS air-conditioning subsystem.
- Log faults for incidents and/or failures experienced.
- Perform logistic and administrative duties such as keeping records, drawings and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Assist direct superior in preparing OEDs and other documentation for safety assessments.
- Assist direct superior with administrative coordination, documentation, reporting duties and other office duties.
- Assist suppliers and sub-contractors while performing SLA and/or scheduled maintenance on Generators, UPSs, HVAC systems and other equipment throughout MATS sites.
- Carry out diesel refueling as and when required.
- Perform physical tasks, such as laying of conduit, water pipes, movement of equipment, and similar tasks as directed by direct superior.
- Perform first-line maintenance on MATS power generation systems and air-conditioning units.
- Provide immediate assistance during emergencies.
- Perform standby (on call) duties to cover emergencies during silent hours including weekends and public holidays. Emergency duties executed during silent hours or when the employee is on vacation leave shall be paid at overtime rates in accordance with Company policy.
- Attend for local and/or overseas training as required.
- Report on Safety Occurrences. Assist MATS SQSC section in investigations, surveys and audits as well as in risk and safety assessments as and when required.
- Perform duties not listed in this job description but directly related to the line of expertise entailed in this position as directed by direct superior.
- Drive within the boundaries of the airfield, following completion of the appropriate training.
- Applies, supports, and adheres to the Safety, Quality, Security and Compliance – policies and procedures of the organisation as required by international, national, and internal requirements.
