WHO ARE WE?

Malta Air Traffic Services Ltd (MATS) is Malta’s Air Navigation Service Provider, and its main activity is the provision of air navigation service for the Maltese Flight Information Region and also Air Traffic Services for the Malta International Airport.

INTRODUCTION

When you apply for work with us, visiting us, use our services, do business with
us, or use our social media you are trusting us with your information. This privacy notice is to let you know that MATS cares for your personal information.

WHAT INFORMATION?

MATS processes personal data of its board of directors, management, employees, job applicants and visitors to its centre. Other data collected includes that pertaining to suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors that deal with its assets.

Personal data collected includes but is not limited to Name, Surname, Identification / Passport Number, Curriculum Vitae, Qualifications and other material pertaining to job requirements and as declared in the MATS Personal Data Protection Policy. ADMIN AP 01-12 – POLICY 8

Without prejudice to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), persons who are required to be Licensed, Certified and medically certified as required by SES regulations are required to provide such data which will be processed by MATS. This data may be shared with TM-CAD for the purpose of licensing. Data may also be shared with the office of the manager of the airport security (AVSEC) and the airport managing body for security reasons and as requested by SES and Local laws.

Personal Data may also be handled by the Safety, Quality and Security Section for Safety investigations and analysis as mandated by SES regulations in full confidentiality and under just culture provisions as required by EU regulations and as declared in the MATS policies.

Flight Plan data is also processed and stored by MATS.

MATS may also collect the following types of information;

  • Cookie Information such as details of your visits to our website or any interactions with us through our social media;
  • Digital personal information such as your social media username (if you interact with us through this medium which
    enables us to respond to your comments, questions or feedback);
  • Photos or videos if you attend MATS sites or attend an event that MATS is hosting or in attendance at;
  • Security CCTV images if you visit one of our sites; and
  • Vehicle registration number if you visit one of our sites.

Company administration section for management reasons.

Directors and Employees only if so required.

Data provided to us by job applicants may be shared with TM-CAD and AVSEC

Legal and other professional advisors

Police, Courts or other enforcement agencies, in Malta or in other European Member States, to meet our legal requirements or upon a request to do so by security, legal and judicial authorities. These types of requests will be dealt with on a case by case.

APPLICANTS / VISITORS

Data provided to us by visitors is shared with, AVSEC and MIA plc only for security purposes.

FOR HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN THE DATA?

MATS Ltd retain your personal details for as long as it is necessary for the initial purpose for which it is collected for third parties, for its employees this is governed by the dedicated records control procedure.

DATA TRANSFERRED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA

When navigating through our social media your data is not collected through IP, as MATS do not perform traffic analytics through its website.

The only data we collect is your name, surname and contact details when you provide information through the Contact Form. We do not collect and use the personal data described above in order to provide you with any services.

Should we need to process your personal data for other purposes, we ask for your consent in advance.

RIGHTS

You have the right to withdraw your consent where consent has been used to collect your personal information.

Any third parties who provided his / her data to MATS, has the right at any time to request rectification, erasure of his / her personal data, with the exception of those which MATS has legal obligation to keep.

NOTE CONCERNING MINORS

Persons under the age of 18, are not permitted to communicate their personal data to MATS unless with the consent of their parent/ legal guardian.

APPLICABLE LAW

We may disclose your information to local authorities if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or appropriate government request; or perform a task carried out
in the public interest.

All disputes arising out of or in connection with this Privacy Policy must be dealt with under the GDPR legal conditions.

AMENDMENTS

MATS reserves the right to change any of the terms of this Policy at any time and without notice. MATS is only required to change the version of this Policy when changes are done indicating what was affected by the change.
